Artist's Comments

watercolor and gouache, 5x7"

I asked my Mom what she wanted for her birthday, and she said she'd like me to paint a bird for her. This is one of our favorites, the white-breasted nuthatch.

Happy Birthday, Mom!

How do you paint so well? I love the leaves, and the bird. And all on such a small canvas/paper. Amazing.

Aww, that's really sweet! I love watercoloring birds- the feathers are so much fun. You've done a beautiful job with the bark here, and that curling fall leaf.

Dude, you're so fast! I wanna pet the birdie... It reminds me of when Ebo sucks his head in and it looks like he has no neck. And this piece feels so nice and wintery! Love the texture on the bark.
