This is a nonspecific angel from the same "world" as this inkwash painting [link] , but he got to put on a lot more color than his grayscale compatriot (even if he and his mourning dove seem pale at first glance). Basically speaking, this piece is another exploration of how I could use acrylics in the future...

Your work is really quite good. The use of color in this piece really makes the image pop -- nice use of complementaries and the color is layered perfectly. Very precise, too, yet you show the brush stokes and make the viewer aware of the medium. This piece also has a nice rhythm you use to build the texture.

What a disturbing expression on his face. He reminded me of a book by Roger Zelazny. It had a character - the angel of dawn. He would stare endlessly into the east. Motionless for eternity...
