Pathways - Poison Dragon cover component by emla Pathways - Poison Dragon cover component by emla
I was commissioned to paint some work for Rite Publishing in November for their Pathfinder ezine, Pathways. The issue was published this month! You can check it out at DriveThruRPG: [link]

This dragon is a magically changed gold dragon. The basic brief was that the body plan should obviously resemble a more traditional eastern dragon look than the standard DnD gold, but that is should retain the color of its parents.

(I've added my own textured background to the dragon here as it was not intended to be viewed on a white BG.)

I love the colours and how every scale is uniform. Gorgeous

Thank you!

When I was in the initial sketching phase of this, I lightly drew a diamond-shaped grid wrapping around his body to aid the uniform placement of the scales. :)

The color is subtle, which does it justice. Impressive.

He really needed something to define his spine with the pose twisting around like that or it would never have made any sense! ;)
