I don't always paint scary things, but when I do they have sharp pointy teeth! How many shoulder-punches of shame do I get for channeling two memes in the same sentence?
This creature is like a manifestation of anxiety. Anxiety-powered fears can be a lot like a hydra's heads; no sooner do you defeat one than another two seem to rise in its place. Just don't give in or it will consume you.
I love this piece. Each head seems to capture a different aspect of workplace misery. I actually had a huge comment typed up, when I first saw this two or three weeks ago, about what each head seemed to me to represent. But something ate it, and I can't quite remember it. I remember the one on the floor was fatigue and lethargy and the one in the middle was basically the boss yelling at you. I can't remember what the other two were supposed to be. Maybe it'll come to me.
The level of detail--fabric folds, furniture textures, etc.--is impressive, too, but it doesn't stick out in a way that is distracting.
no shoulder punches, because this is aweeeesome. i think this channels the idea of anxiety very well! i know when i feel anxious this is sort of what i imagine. ;n; scary beasties!

"I don't always paint scary things, but when I do they have sharp pointy teeth!" Was that a reference to those Dos Aquis (sp) beer commercials??? Because that made me laugh so hard. XD

Thanks for the encouragement, too. Hope your work is going well.
