Concepts painted on a bit a scrap watercolor paper.

It's Halloween and I'm already thinking about costume concepts for future years. Not that I've tried to make a costume since high school, but it might not be a bad idea to try it again.

These concepts are inspired by Venice carnival costumes and Day of the Dead. I've always been fond of costumes with masks; I guess I think it's more fun when people don't recognize you.

Ooh, looks really neat! I like the bone sleeves... and I have to agree with the mask idea as well :) If I ever dress up I'm going to make sure to have a mask on.

Wow. That costume design looks like it belongs in an Italian opera. Brilliant.

Thanks! I'm thinking that the best way to do the hands/arms would be to get some cheap black opera-length gloves and paint or sew the skeleton design onto them. Should be fun and/or torture. D:

these are very nice- I like the influences you drew from too; love the theatrical flare

I actually tried to do something I bit like that this year...didn't turn out so well, but that MIGHT have to do with starting it the night before. I love this, though, it looks very elegant.
