So, I started this personal piece about 18 months ago. I got tired of painting ivy and busy with professional work, and it was buried under a stack of sketches for a long time. I dug it up yesterday and decided to finish it.
It's a mock cover for "The Secret Garden." I may use it to play with typography later.
As a refresher, here is the sketch and line art from early 2010: [link]
Hello! I'm making a series of art videos about flowers, and I was wondering if I could include this piece in one of my videos. It would be set to an original classical-style composition (by me) about this flower. I'll be sure to credit you and link to your page if you say yes. Here's a link to see the kind of music it is: [link]

I gotta ask this since I don't really get a clue via your artist comments. Just what did you use? For a moment I thought it was colored pencil or watercolor pencil. I ask because I'd like to do something a bit like this...only with a mouse gathering blueberries under a BB bush. Kind of a whimsy theme. This is fantastic. A belated congrats on the DD.

This painting is watercolor and gouache (basically watercolor witha chalky pigment added to make it opaque). Gouache is good for details but you might when to do some testing on a spare piece of paper to see how it handles.
Okay. I've been reading up on Gouache and watercolor. I figured it might've been that, or a thin acrylic. Trying to get back to my "old traditional media roots". The detail in this is mindboggling. Thanks for the information. ^^
