My ninth poetry painting. I don't do a lot of landscapes, but I had a lot of fun stylizing the trees, bushes and snow in this, so I'm probably going to play around a lot more with this mode of stylization in the future.

One more to go, my goal is to have that done by tomorrow evening. Check my journal for a complee list of the poetry paintings so far! [link]

Poem: Snow-Flakes by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Out of the bosom of the Air,
Out of the cloud-folds of her garments shaken,
Over the woodlands brown and bare
Over the harvest-fields forsaken,
Silent and soft and slow
Descends the snow.

(PS, if you're wondering why this is in "fantasy," look for the sky-lady.)

The design and stylization is spectacular; I can't stop staring at those bushes! Sheer genius. =)

That and it's simply gorgeous. I love the way you made the snow fall, almost in rivers... very peaceful.

St. Francis said,
“A man who uses his hands is a laborer. One who uses his hands and mind is a craftsman. He who uses his hands, and his mind, and his heart is an artist.”

Chock full of atmosphere.

This is really really beautifully done!

Heh, it's a different take on how I see things in that season. See, you know nature is a woman because she wears more makeup when she starts to lose her more youthful qualities...
